Make it! Buy it! Sell it! All in one place.
Selling your Art not your Soul
I’m striving to successfully survive during these times of economic uncertainty with forty seven years as a professional under my belt. Ten years ago, I began doing workshops that I called “Selling your Art not your Soul,” during which I shared the wealth of my experiences not only as a full time Artist since 1962, but as a child growing up in an Artist’s household.
My dad, Eugene Zaikine, was rapidly establishing a career as a major painter and muralist when I was in my young formative years. By the age of four, I had the feeling that Art was what I would do with my life as well. My mother was instrumental in keeping the business together. She would sell my dad’s work. I like to feel like she helped to establish ways to bring income into the family circle. She did so in ways that were exceedingly innovative and creative on her part! As an example, she would bring his paintings to Washington Square Park in New York City and display them on the benches in the park.
Economic annalists of today compare our current economic turn down to the 1930’s when people took creative action like my mother did. With the war in the 1940’s, further tightening of the belt occurred. I recall rationing of all kinds, but we survived and it was community that held us and pulled us together.
We are all artists and creative people in our own right. In order to help access this universal energy available to everyone, I have been giving workshops, (as I mentioned previously) titled “Selling your Art not your Soul.” I have video taped these workshops and have almost 16 hours of in depth videos with professional guest speakers that have joined me to share their knowledge and internet/website information. The videos include information on the following topics to name a few: the creations of merchandise through silk screen, glicee and other printing techniques, information on festivals, galleries and museum affiliations. Also included on the cds is an art critic who shares his wealth of knowledge.
A fifteen minute overview tape is available for $15.00 and will be credited when ordering the complete set of tapes/dvds for a special price of $139.00 postage included. Or you may purchase separate workshop packages for $49.00 each.

With warmest regards,
Zak Zaikine
